Do you want to make a good nights sleep…?

Hello!
I’m Seana Clemmons

I am a Certified Sleep Consultant and became very interested in sleep issues 20 years ago when I was pregnant with my third child. My first two boys were not good sleepers and I realized I could not do it again, so I needed to change my approach. Back then, Dana Obleman’s Sleep Sense™ program was not around, but like today, many books were available. I read….. a lot, and, muddled my way through knowing sleep was important. I knew I could teach my baby independent sleep skills, stuck to it, saw success, and 17 months later implemented the same routines on my fourth child. I was hooked! The difference between my first two children and second two was amazing! They were so much happier, healthier well rested kids! My passion regarding sleep emerged.

Recently, I heard about The Sleep Sense™ Program that Dana Obleman created in 2003 and my immediate thought was “Wow!” If only I would have had someone available to me, to consult with, to write a personalized sleep plan AND be there for support on those rough nights when I thought I couldn’t do it! It would have been so much easier! My next thought was, “This is my calling!” I became trained and certified through Dana’s extensive program. My passion for sleep has never waivered and now I can help other young moms and dads going through this.

Dana’s methods have been used to help over 57,000 families and I am here to help you. Being a new parent does not mean you have to give up a good night’s sleep and it’s never too late to teach those skills. And the best news yet, you do not have to let your child “cry it out”. So, if you are struggling with your child’s sleep, there are some different ways I can help:

  • An individual consultation – in person or virtual
  • Group Presentations
  • In-home coaching and support

All my packages include a customized step by step sleep plan to solve your child’s sleep issues.

Sleep Philosophy

About the Sleep Sense™ Program

The Sleep Sense™ Program believes that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children. A well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful and eager to learn. I am more interested in improving your child’s sleep than preaching a particular sleep philosophy.

When parents entrust me as their child’s “sleep guide” either through one-on-one consultations or seminars, they are placing a great deal of trust in me, and I want to let you know I take this responsibility very seriously.

While most books and programs dealing with child sleep programs take philosophical stands (based largely around the issue of “crying it out”), I believe that your child’s sleep is more important than my personal vies on the subject. That’s why there has been so much emphasis on accommodating different parenting styles within The Sleep Sense™ Program.

My approach to improving your child’s sleep is pretty simple:

  • I will provide honest information about WHY sleep is so important for your child’s well-being. This will give you all the motivation you need to make changes to your child’s sleep habits.
  • I’ll lay out an easy-to-follow, step-by-step plan that lets you make some choices about what is the right approach for your child. All children are children are different and nobody knows your child better than you do.
  • I will be there to support and guide you while showing you how to measure success. (No, you shouldn’t expect your child to sleep 12 uninterrupted hours on the first night – although it does happen!

A little note about the “crying” question: Since people always ask me about whether my program involves “crying it out”. I think it’s something that deserves to be addressed here.

Crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. That’s why I’m always sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve at least some amount of protest on the child’s part.

Please understand that I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. The reason that The Sleep Sense™ Program is so effective is that is allows you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.

Testimonials

What My Clients Say:

As I sit here writing, I am still in awe that our 6 month old is sound asleep in her crib! When I first came to Seana for help, baby girl had never slept in her crib at all, unless we first rocked her to sleep and then carefully laid her in it, just hoping she wouldn’t wake up, which she almost always did! It was so hard! She was also waking up 3-4 times throughout the night and I would make her a bottle, even though she rarely finished them and clearly didn’t need one anymore. Naps were even harder. The only way she would sleep was if we rocked, swayed, and held her the entire nap! Seana not only came up with a perfect sleep plan just for us, she was there for me every time I needed her, especially at the beginning when it was the hardest for me! Now baby girl goes down in her crib awake, with little to no crying and is sleeping better than she ever has! She’s also cut out all of those middle of the night feedings! She wakes up happy and is thriving! There’s no way I could’ve done this without Seana! She is so kind and understood our needs from the get go! I cannot recommend her enough!
- Abigail Eppley

I would recommend Seana as a sleep consultant again and again. When we first inquired about assistance with our son to begin sleep training she was quick to reply and get started with us. First things first, she had a session with us to get to know our situation so she could better assist us and personalize the schedule to fit our needs. She was inquisitive and professional while still being extremely personable and relatable. As a very experienced mother herself, Seana is able to put herself in your shoes and she understands the sleepless nights and all of the pressure that comes with being a parent. The customized schedule Seana created for us worked perfectly and luckily for us, our baby took to it extremely well. Seana was always just a phone call or email away if we had any questions or concerns which was extremely comforting. She gave wonderful feedback and suggestions. Our baby handled the transition very well because of the assistance she provided. I know there are situations that take a little – READ MORE..

FAQs

Do you use the “Cry it out” Method?

No, I do not. This method entails you leaving your child alone to cry until they fall asleep.

While this works for some, the majority (including myself) are not comfortable with this approach. Crying is your child’s way of protesting change as when making changes to their sleep habits you can expect it will result in some sort of protest. This is why I’m sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve some amount of protest on the child’s part. However, I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone or ignore their cries. My plan is one which we work to limit the crying while gently teaching your child to fall asleep independently.

Do I have to be local?

No. Not only do I do face to face consulting, I can do Facetime, Skype or any other form of communication that will work for you.

What ages do you work with?

I have packages from prenatal all the way up to 12 years old.

Do you provide in-person support?

Yes. I offer several options for in-person support. These include a bedtime and half night support packages. Head over to my Packages tab to learn more.

How long will it take to sleep train my child?

Every child is different. However, the average child will begin to show great improvement in their sleep habits by night 4 of the plan. Plan length is traditionally determined by the age of the child. My newborn sleep plans are 4 weeks. While my baby plans are 2 weeks in length. Toddlers and older children take a bit more time as their habits are more engrained, so plans tend to be 3 weeks.

Can you work with multiple children at once?

Absolutely! My sleep solutions can be modified to work with twins, triplets, or children of different ages.
